Easy Ways to Reduce Stress While Getting your MBA

Anyone who is going through the process of getting an MBA knows that at times, there are high levels of stress. However, there are ways you can ease the stress while studying for your MBA.

Write Down What you’re Feeling

One way to reduce stress while going through this process is to write down how you feel. Getting your feelings on paper will help you to see clearly what you are feeling and why. Another way to help reduce stress is to get a massage. A good massage relaxes the mind and body and when you feel relaxed, you can more effectively handle the challenges of studying for an MBA. Taking a walk can also help reduce stress. For instance taking a walk in a park or walking in your neighborhood can lessen stress, especially if you take a walk that doesn’t involve a certain purpose or goal—just a relaxing walk. And, if you have a pet, spend some time with him or her. Listening to some music with your pet as you relax in a chair or sofa is a wonderful way to relax and forget the needs of the day. Going once a week and throwing around some bowling balls can help.

Be More Organized and Join a Club

Another way that can reduce stress while getting your MBA is to be more organized in your studying. Knowing and completing your assignments ahead of time, planning your days and studying when your energy levels are high, taking breaks between studying and getting plenty of sleep will help keep your stress levels low. In addition, another way to reduce stress while studying is to find a club where you can share similar interests with others--such as drama or singing in a choir. Still another way to beat stress when studying is to find a quiet spot, sitting down and closing your eyes and then practicing some deep breathing exercises. For at least 5-10 times, inhale slowly through your nose, hold your breath and then exhale slowly through your mouth. By doing this several times a day, when needed, you will feel much more relaxed and in control.
